We’re here to guide you through your Frogfoot fibre installation for a smooth, hassle-free experience. This guide is packed with details, so be sure to read through, especially if you’re in a hurry and want the key points at the end.
Router Setup and Configuration:
You can use your own router—just set it to DHCP/Dynamic IP with the settings we provide. If you ordered a router from GetWiza, we’ll handle the configuration and delivery.
Power Requirements:
You’ll need two plug points: one for the ONT (the fibre modem provided by Frogfoot) and another for your WiFi router.
Installation Process:
Frogfoot handles all installations directly. In some cases, they may also send a PDF with installation details. They will coordinate with you directly and might use contractors for some installations. When the team arrives, it’s important to identify any hazards and let them know where you’d like fibre to be run. If drilling is required, be prepared to point out any areas with water pipes, electrical cables, or other hazards.
The first 30 meters of fibre installation is covered by the standard installation fee. If extra costs apply, the Frogfoot technician or contractor will provide a quote. Please note that lifting or repaving paving stones is not included in the installation, so arrange any necessary trenching or conduit work in advance.
If you have existing conduits, they need to be in excellent condition with no gaps and must contain a drawstring for the fibre cable. Otherwise, the conduit cannot be used.
Important Tips:
If there are any issues during the installation, address them with the installation team immediately, as it’s easier to resolve them on-site.
Installation Tips:
Decide where you’d like your router in advance, ensuring it’s close to a plug point. Discuss with the technicians about where you want cables to run and where you want the ONT box. If you have a garden or want fibre to run outside, trunking pipes will be used. Check their placement to ensure they meet your preferences before they are permanently attached.
Connecting to the Internet:
In most cases, your Frogfoot fibre line will be live right after installation. You’ll receive an SMS and email notification when your fibre is activated.
Quick Recap:
- An adult must be at home to guide and approve the installation.
- You should be live the same day, or within 1-2 days, but in rare cases, it could take up to 5 days.
- Two 2-prong plug points are required.
- The Frogfoot fibre equipment remains their property. Damage or loss incurs replacement costs, so if you move, leave the equipment behind.
- Billing begins once your service is live. You’ll receive an invoice by email at the end of your first month, with any partial month billed pro-rata.
