Relocating your home or office? Discover how to seamlessly transfer your fibre service!
If you’re moving to a new property and want to bring your fibre service along, this guide will walk you through the process of getting set up at your new place.
Here’s what you need to know: Fibre connections are physical cables that can’t be moved. Each fibre line is treated as a separate “service,” so a bit of administrative work is involved in the relocation process.
Let’s take a look at the steps involved: #
- Cancel your current service:
To cancel your existing service, simply send an email to support@getwiza.com, reference your six digit account code and let us know where you’re moving to. It’s essential to be aware of the notice period required by your fibre network. If you want to avoid paying for unused time, please notify us as soon as possible or arrange for the next tenant/occupant to take over the service. - Order fibre for your new property:
To sign up for a fibre service at your new place, please use our standard fibre order page via our coverage tool here. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:- If you’re unsure about the fibre network available at your new address, let us know, and we’ll help you determine the right option.
- If there’s an existing fibre service being used at the property, we’ll need to coordinate the start and end dates accordingly.
- In most cases, we require a page from your lease or offer to purchase that includes your name and address, particularly if the previous internet service provider (ISP) hasn’t released the line at your new property.
- Refer the next occupants for a 30% discount:
As a small business, we greatly appreciate your support in keeping your line on our network. Share your account code with the new tenant, owner or landlord and you can both get 30% off on 1 months bill. On our order page, there’s an option labeled “Promo Code”. Just have the new occupant input your 6 digit account code and you’ll both get the reward!
Important note for your current property: Please remember to only take your WiFi router, the router power supply, and leave the Fibre Box, Fibre Box cables, and power supply behind.
Important note for your new property: If there’s already a fibre installation in place, please ensure that the fibre equipment (ONT, ATB, and Power Supply) is on-site, functional, and undamaged. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for people to remove the power supply, damage the fibre, or accidentally cover the equipment in paint or dust. If any damage occurs, we’ll need to arrange a new installation, which may involve additional costs.
If you’re taking the WiFi router used for your previous service with you, simply plug it in at your new location, and you’ll be good to go. No changes to the settings are required, of course, once the service is activated.
