Relocating your home or office? Discover how to seamlessly transfer your fiber service!
If you’re moving to a new property and want to bring your fiber service along, this guide will walk you through the process of getting set up at your new place.
Here’s what you need to know: Fibre connections are physical cables that can’t be moved. Each fiber line is treated as a separate “service,” so a bit of administrative work is involved in the relocation process.
Let’s take a look at the steps involved: #
- Cancel your current service:
To cancel your existing service, simply click on the link below and provide your Account Code from your last invoice. It’s essential to be aware of the notice period required by your fiber network. If you want to avoid paying for unused time, please notify us as soon as possible or arrange for the next tenant/occupant to take over the service.
[Cancel your existing service using this link and your Account Code.] - Order fiber for your new property:
To sign up for a fiber service at your new place, please use our standard fiber order form. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:- If you’re unsure about the fiber network available at your new address, let us know, and we’ll help you determine the right option.
- If there’s an existing fiber service being used at the property, we’ll need to coordinate the start and end dates accordingly.
- In certain cases, we may require a page from your lease that includes your name and address, particularly if the previous internet service provider (ISP) hasn’t released the line at your new property.
- Refer the next occupants for discounts:
As a small business, we greatly appreciate your support in keeping your line on our network. We kindly request that you ask your landlord or the people moving in next to take over your old service. On our order form, there’s an option labeled “Transfer from an existing GetWiza customer.” By selecting this, we can reduce upfront fees and eliminate any early termination charges
Important note for your current property: Please remember to only take your WiFi router, the router power supply, and leave the Fiber Box, Fiber Box cables, and power supply behind.
Important note for your new property: If there’s already a fiber installation in place, please ensure that the fiber equipment (ONT, ATB, and Power Supply) is on-site, functional, and undamaged. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for people to remove the power supply, damage the fiber, or accidentally cover the equipment in paint or dust. If any damage occurs, we’ll need to arrange a new installation, which may involve additional costs.
If you’re taking the WiFi router used for your previous service with you, simply plug it in at your new location, and you’ll be good to go. No changes to the settings are required, of course, once the service is activated.
Thank you for choosing GetWiza, we’re here to assist you every step of the way!
